7-Day, 6-Night Private Cruise Anavilhanas, Jaú, Maracá, and Panacarica National Parks

Discover the Amazon with a 7-day, 6-night private cruise through the Rio Negro and the Anavilhanas, Jaú, Maracá, and Panacarica National Parks. River Route: 512 km – Navigate aboard a comfortable regional boat along an exclusive route, exploring some of the most pristine areas of the Amazon. In these regions, the forest and rivers reign supreme, providing a deep immersion into nature. This journey offers stunning scenery, both in the dry season (October – February) and the high-water season (March – September), each revealing unique landscapes and experiences.

Anavilhanas National Park

The Anavilhanas National Park covers an area of 3,504 km² and was established as a national park in 2008, after serving as an ecological station dedicated to scientific research since 1981. With this change, the park became accessible to visitors eager to explore its extraordinary maze, navigating through lakes, narrow channels, and the lush flooded forest during the river’s high season. In 2017, Anavilhanas was recognized by the Ramsar Convention, highlighting its importance in the preservation of global wetlands.

Jaú National Park

Jaú National Park, located in the state of Amazonas, is one of the largest conservation units in Brazil, covering approximately 22,720 km². Established in 1980, the park is internationally recognized by UNESCO as a Natural World Heritage Site and is part of the Central Amazon Conservation Complex. It protects the entire basin of the Jaú River, one of the world’s largest blackwater rivers, stretching 450 km. The park also includes the Carabinani River, where waterfalls and scenic rapids emerge during the dry season, offering perfect spots for nature contemplation. This park is a true biodiversity sanctuary, hosting an impressive variety of flora and fauna, including many species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians—several of which are endemic to the Amazon. Its remote location and vast expanses of continuous rainforests make the park one of the best-preserved areas in the region. Visitors can explore the park’s natural beauty through both aquatic and land trails, such as the Igapós Trail, which traverses flooded areas during the rainy season, and the Itaubal Trail, ideal for hiking and waterfall exploration. Canoeing and birdwatching are popular activities, with over 445 bird species recorded within the park.

Meduíni Creek and Juçara Lake

Meduíni Creek and Juçara Lake, located in the heart of the Amazon, offer a unique experience of immersion in nature. These areas are perfect for canoe tours, both day and night, giving visitors the chance to observe the region’s rich wildlife up close. Monkeys and various bird species are often spotted in the early morning, making sunrise at the creek a delightful experience. The dense, towering vegetation surrounding the creeks creates a lush environment, ideal for those seeking tranquility and immersion in Amazonian biodiversity. Additionally, these creeks, with their dark waters and air of mystery, are vital ecosystems that connect with larger rivers and sustain numerous aquatic species, including fish and reptiles. Night tours are also highly recommended, as the Amazon’s wildlife transforms after dark, revealing nocturnal creatures such as caimans and other predators. The forest’s nighttime sounds, combined with the experience of being surrounded by untouched nature, make this an unmissable adventure for nature lovers. Preserving these environments is essential, as they play a crucial role in maintaining the Amazon’s ecological balance and serve as important sources of water and food for local communities. Raising awareness of their importance through ecotourism is a key step in ensuring the conservation of these natural treasures.

Maracaca Community

The Maracaca Community, located within the Baixo Rio Branco-Jauaperi Extractive Reserve (RESEX), offers an authentic experience of interaction with nature and local communities. This small community is situated in a preserved area where the Maracaca Creek (Igarapé Maracaca) flows, known for its crystal-clear waters at its source, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to connect with local biodiversity. The Baixo Rio Branco-Jauaperi RESEX, spanning over 580,000 hectares, was established to protect the livelihoods of riverside communities that depend on the forest and natural resources. The creek is a charming stop where tourists can enjoy peaceful moments, interacting with the locals, who are known for their hospitality and stories about life in the Amazon. Visiting the community offers a chance to learn more about sustainable living and the responsible use of natural resources, such as fishing and forest product harvesting. In addition to the spectacular landscape and rich biodiversity, the area is an excellent starting point for those who want to explore the Amazon responsibly, with activities that promote environmental conservation and the appreciation of traditional cultures.

Panacarica Community

The Panacarica Community, located along the banks of the Lower Rio Branco in Roraima, is a small riverside community that relies primarily on artisanal fishing. Subsistence fishing is essential for the residents, serving as their main source of food, especially protein. This activity is carried out in a traditional and sustainable way, but the community faces challenges, such as the pressure from commercial fishing, which reduces fish availability and threatens local livelihoods.

In addition to fishing, the community has a small store that provides basic necessities. Environmental conservation and the creation of protected areas, such as the proposed Baixo Rio Branco-Jauaperi Extractive Reserve, have been discussed to ensure the survival of riverside communities and the protection of natural resources.
