- 07:30 AM – Boarding the Karuguá boat at Tauá Tour headquarters in Novo Airão.
- Introduction of the crew and briefing on the boat’s operations.
- Navigation towards the entrance of Jaú National Park, passing through the labyrinth of the Anavilhanas Islands.
- Madadá Caves trail (duration: 2h30).
- Activities within Jaú National Park and the Carabinani River.
- Land and water trails, wildlife and flora observation, with an overnight stay at Igarapé Preto.
- On the afternoon of the 3rd day, encounter with the Sumaúma (mythical tree) and navigation to Meduíni.
- Discovery activities at Igarapé and Lake Juçana.
- Afternoon navigation towards Maracá.
- Entrance into the Baixo Rio Branco – Jauaperi Extractive Reserve.
- Activities with the community and at the Maracá Igarapé.
- In the afternoon, return to the Rio Negro and begin the journey back towards Novo Airão.
- Navegação em direção à Novo Airão aproveitando os furos, lagos ou praias (na seca).
- 14h30 – Desembarque na sede Tauá Tour.
- 15h – Visita guiada da Fundação Almerinda Malaquias – Programas educativos e sociais.
- 16h30 – Encerramento do cruzeiro.
Activities during the journey are determined by the water levels. The dry season (usually between September and February) and the high-water season (between March and August) in the Amazon offer different landscapes and experiences.
During the dry season, it is possible to visit river beaches, rapids, rocky outcrops, and even petroglyphs. In the high-water season, you can explore the flooded igapó forest and navigate aquatic trails.
The goal of both land and water trails is to spot wildlife.

The Hosts
Marta Vieira da Silva Vallotton
A Brazilian native, daughter of Miguel Rocha, the visionary and founder of FAM, she learned to love nature and work in tourism alongside her father.
She is the founder of the environmental education program at the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation (FAM), an innovative educator focused on teenagers.
Marta shares another passion: plants and animals.
Jean-Daniel Vallotton
A Swiss native, he worked on hospital construction projects in Gabon, Africa. He took part in a six-week expedition in the French Guiana rainforest with the Wayana and Oyampi indigenous peoples.
He is also the founder of the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation and has dedicated over 25 years to building and developing the organization’s training and education programs.
TAUÁ TOUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Founders of the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation, Marta and Jean-Daniel continue to carry out social initiatives in riverside communities through Tauá Tour.
These efforts include the distribution of food baskets, seed distribution with encouragement for planting, composting, family farming, and the preservation of water quality.
